Academic requirement
Graduated from or studying in the final term of Matthayom Suksa 6 (M.6) or equivalent or higher under the following conditions,
- 1. For students from an institution in Thailand
- o Graduated from or currently enrolled in the final term of Matthayom Suksa 6 (M.6) or equivalent in the Thai secondary education system or
- o Graduated from or currently enrolled in the final year of secondary school (grade 12 in the US system or year 13 in the British system) in an international school in Thailand.
- 2. For students who are currently enrolled or have graduated from overseas or GED credential holders, please check the list of secondary education equivalency system in Annex 1
Remarks:
- 1. Applicants must review Annex 2A and Annex 2B for specific program requirements on educational level and CGPA.
- 2. Applicants who are “currently enrolled" must provide the official transcript and graduation certificate on the day of new student registration. Failure to do so may result in disqualification.
Additional documents
Applicants who apply for DIN may submit a personal portfolio (no more than 2 pages A4size in PDF format). The personal portfolio shall include, either of these, among others:
- 1) A statement of purpose that states interests in the program and intentions or plans for the future.
- 2) An applicant’s profile, awards, or activities in academic or other relevant fields that he/she has got or experienced or online start-up/online business experience or project in a high school level;
- 3) A certified Grade C (at least) for those who took the Advanced Placement Program (AP) with International College of Digital Innovation (ICDI).
Admission Tracks
Regular Track
Applicants who do not meet the English proficiency requirements and do not have all required standard tests must choose “regular track” and take subject tests (CMU exam) and/or CMU-English Placement Test depending on the applied program.

Special Track
Applicants who meet the English proficiency requirements and have all required standard tests may choose the “Special Track” and must submit standardized tests in specific subjects and evidence of English Proficiency required by the applied program.

English Proficiency Qualification
- 1. Native English speakers (Australia, Ireland, New Zealand, United Kingdom, United States of America, Canada (Except Quebec)) are exempt from the requirement.
- 2. Non-native English speakers
- 2.1 Exemption from the requirement under the following conditions:
- 1. who are from a country where English is an official language listed in Annex 2C.
- 2. who have completed an international program or graduated from an institution where English is the language of instruction.
- 2.2 No exemption must meet their English proficiency requirement based on the chosen program of study. The program-specific minimum scores for Standard English Language Certificates are listed in Annex 2D. Non-native English speakers who do not meet the required standard English proficiency must take the CMU English Placement Test.
Applicants applying for DIN by taking the English Placement Test or whose English scores are less than the indicated ‘English Proficiency Qualification’ must enroll in a Pre–sessional English course held by International College of Digital Innovation, Chiang Mai University in April – May for the round 1. As for rounds 2 and 3, the Pre-sessional English course will be conducted during their studying, between June – Nov (during the first semester of 2025 academic year) OR submit the qualified English scores within April 30th, 2025.

- The schedule of the Pre-sessional English course may be subject to change.
